Why are Greeting postcards so popular?
Postcards were invented in 1869. Before that time, Christmas and Valentine cards were the only commercial cards available. Around 1900 the postcard industry also introduced greeting cards for other celebrations, such as birthdays, easter, new years day and thanksgiving. Halloween especially in the USA.
